The 29th Annual High School Juried Art Show, exhibited at the Philadelphia Sketch Club Upstairs Gallery from February 8th through 24th, was a great success!

We could not have had such great success without the help of many individuals and departments at the Philadelphia School District.

We want to thank all who helped make the show a success.

The first dinner meeting of 2013 at the Philadelphia Sketch Club was a big success. More then 30 members and friends enjoyed good conversation during an hour-long meet-and-greet that was followed by a presentation by noted Bucks County Artist Alan Fetterman.

Alan presented many images from his recently published book  Illuminate and talked about his life as an artist. The book was available for sale with some of the proceeds to benefit the club. Alan chatted to the crowd as he signed the books for purchasers.

Note from the President

Dear Sketch Club Members:

Recently, we have undergone some changes in the leadership of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. Ross Mitchell, elected President in May of 2012, found it necessary to resign this position, effective November 20, 2012. It was with great sadness the Board of Directors had to accept his resignation. On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, my name was put forward to the Board of Directors and the nomination as President of the Philadelphia Sketch Club was approved. I will serve as interim President until the Club elections are held in May 2013. Susan Smith and Frank Foster will retain their positions as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, and an individual to serve as Vice President will be nominated at the next Board of Directors meeting in January.
