I write to send greetings for the holidays. Relax, enjoy, spend time with family, friends, and loved ones. Honor traditions, draw, paint, and create too if you can!

Before we close out 2012 I wish to list a few announcements and reminders:

2012 SKETCH CLUB MEMBERS HOLIDAY PARTY

Thanks to those members who attended the Saturday Dec 15, 2012 Sketch Club Holiday Party. We had 60 guests and a great afternoon of delicious food, fun and good cheer. We also raised money through the traditional Purity League Auction. I want to thank the volunteers who helped me organize the event by decorating, prepping, running errands, cooking, tending bar and cleaning up: Tim Shickley, PSC Board member and chef extraordinaire!; Faad Ghoraishi, PSC Board member and “Master Potato Masher”; Kenny Deprez, PSC Board Member, House Manager and “Mr. Fix It” and clean up crew; Nancy Tabas, PSC member and EXCELLENT kitchen prep; Joe Winter, PSC member and our multi-tasking multitalented bar tender; Ariel Rolfe, PSC’s Univ Arts grad assistant, decorator, and super all around helper; Ralph Rodriquez, PSC volunteer grant writer and fabulous decorator; Barbara Farley, PSC volunteer, delivery pick up person and diligent kitchen prep

2012 ANNUAL APPEAL

Extra special thanks to those members and friends who have sent donations for the Sketch Club’s 2012 Annual Appeal. Money raised from these annual fully tax-deductible contributions goes directly towards supporting the Club’s exhibition schedule, workshops, program development and preservation of our beautiful historic building. Please consider making a year-end donation by returning the donation card to the Club by the end of 2012.

2012 AND 2013 SKETCH CLUB MEMBERSHIP DUES

Some of you may be receiving an end of the year email as a gentle reminder to pay your outstanding 2012 membership dues. Some individuals still owe in full or the remainder of their quarterly payments. Please make every effort to pay for 2012 in order to remain on the Club’s current and active membership list. Later in January 2013 we will be sending invoices to renew your 2013 membership. Extra special thanks to those members who have already paid for 2013 in full to renew their membership. Should you have any questions about the status of your 2012 payment, please call the Club at 215 545 9298 and I’ll be happy to review your account or quarterly payment schedule with you.

Thank you for your support and dedication to the Philadelphia Sketch Club. I take great pride in serving as Executive Director of America’s oldest organization for artists since 1860. While working every day at the Club, I see how your creativity and spirit of volunteerism keeps this special organization’s history intact and allows us to remain a vibrant community for artists that support the visual arts as well as foster art appreciation and education.
