This year’s PSC Members show will benefit the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). PAWS is Philadelphia’s largest no-kill animal shelter and finds loving home for thousands of animals each year. This is a non-juried show for Members Only. Pets will be available for adoptions at the Reception at PSC.
Making a guest appearance to collect admission was Frank Foster, a PSC distinguished member and long-time treasurer. He was standing-in for our Gallery Manager Marilyn Foehrenbach who was setting up the gallery for her presentation as guest speaker.
Marilyn demonstrated how she uses a laptop and a Wacom tablet to create work that when printed is difficult to distinguish from a traditional work, whether it its oil, watercolor, or even pastel or conte crayon.
The great success of the evenings festivities was the result of the hard work of many dedicated PSC members, too numerous to list here. Thanks to all for the great evening.
Plan to attend then next dinner meeting on April 11th meeting. Look for further details on our web site and in the PSC newsletter, the Portfolio.
Our next Members’ Dinner Meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2014. The schedule is:
5:15 PM Social Period Begins
6:15 PM Speaker – Marilyn Foehrenbach

Marilyn Foehrenbach, our Gallery Manager at the Philadelphia Sketch Club, will be our March Member’s Dinner Meeting speaker. Marilyn recently graduated with a BFA in illustration from Moore College of art and design, where she excelled in Digital Painting. She will be demonstrating how she uses a laptop and a Wacom tablet to create work that when printed is difficult to distinguish from a traditional work, whether it its oil, watercolor, or even pastel or conte crayon.
Marilyn recently had her work accepted into the Society of Illustrators 2014 Student Competition. Over 8,000 works were entered by college students from around the work, and less than 300 were selected. Her work will be on display May through June at the Society of Illustrators in NYC. Congratulations, Marilyn!
Please RSVP by Wednesday, March 12 to executivedirector@sketchclub.
