Our Next Members’ Dinner meeting will take place on November 14, 2014. The speaker will be Kyle Cassidy, noted Photographer and PSC Member.  The Schedule for the evening will be:

  • 5:30-Social Period Begins
  • 6:15- Speaker (Kyle Cassidy)
  • 7:15- Dinner

On the Menu:

  • Tossed Salad
  • Veal Scaloppine
  • Penne in Eggplant Sauce
  • Buttered Stringbeans
  • Fried Cheese Cake Bites

Kyle Cassidy is an American author, photographer, videographer and designer who lives in West Philadelphia. He holds a BA in English from Rowan University, and also holds an MCSE. He is the author of the book Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes. Kyle will be discussing his recent projects to include This is What a Librarian Looks Like. The 2014 PSC Flash Salon season concludes with 3 consecutive exhibitions. Flash Salons are exhibitions of short duration lasting only one week including a reception. Mark you calendar to see a large number of works in each show by these exciting artists in our main upstairs gallery.

  • Flash Salon A – Oct 29 – Nov 5, 2014
  • Linda Sosangelis : Born in Manhattan, New York, Linda studied illustration and painting at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Linda is a classical realist painter working exclusively in oil. Her works represent several genres including still life, urban and natural landscape, and figure.   • Flash Salon B – Nov. 5-12, 2014
  • Belinda Haikes : “Exchange: take a little drawing, leave a little something”. Belinda is an Assistant Professor of Art + Design at West Chester University of PA . She is an artist, designer and educator. She has an MFA from PAFA and a PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has been exhibited both nationally, and internationally. PSC 3rd Annual Artist Invitational Show – November 1-30, 2014 in the Stewart Room Gallery

  • Diane Greenberg: (DianeGreenbergArt.com) Diane Greenberg is an award winning regional artist based in New Hope, Bucks County. Diane’s drawing will be published in 2015 in Strokes of Genius 7: Depth, Dimension + Space. In 2013 she achieved signature status from th Philadelphia Water Color Society. A versatile artist, Diane is accomplished in pencil, colored pencil, watercolor, and oil. Diane received degrees in fine arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton and Textile Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Enthusiastic 2014 Gala Support

The Philadelphia Sketch Club hosted its 154th Anniversary Gala last night, October 18, 2014. An enthusiastic crowd of patrons, supporters, friends, sponsors and members attended.  There was copious chatter, food, and refreshments.

Highlights included three of the nation’s top artists, Elizabeth Osborne, Robert Beck and Moe Brooker. Each was presented with the Philadelphia Sketch Club Medal for their significant contributions to the visual arts.

Other activities included a live art auction and a silent auction.

2014 PSC Large Format Art Opening Reception

We had a great 2014 LFA Opening reception and award ceremony on Sunday Oct 28, 2014.
