This show is a collaboration between the School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Sketch Club. Tessie Varthas,  Art Content Specialist for the Office of Academic Enrichment and Support at the School District , is the administrator working with us to produce this show. The art work is selected by all of the invited high school art teachers from their classrooms. The School District provides all the mailing, postcards, labels, call to entries, catalogues and posters. Thank you to all the members who have already sent their checks ( tax deductible) for student artwork awards. If you did not see me at the Holiday Party, it is not too late. Any amount is welcome. Please make your checks payable to the Philadelphia Sketch Club with a note for ” H.S. Art Show Awards” and send it to the Club: attention Norka Shedlock. Also let me know you’ve paid. ( phone and email below) All donors are honored in the catalogue and on plagues by each award winning work of art in the exhibition.

In summary, donors are invited to join in the judging, volunteers are needed to help hang on delivery dates and provide a dish of refreshments for the reception, Feb. 24. This show gets better every year!!! This is the 29th annual show

DELIVERY:
Wednesday, Jan. 30, 3 to 6:00 PM
Thursday, Jan. 31, 3 to 6:00 PM
Friday, Feb. 1, 3 to 6:00 PM

Hanging is done by the School Dist, of Philadelphia High School Art Teachers. Volunteers are needed to help the teachers hang the mostly matted work with staple guns provided.
